Your journal can become an altar.

Journal As Altar is a freedom project, not an assignment that you pass or fail.

When our journals are altars, our creative practices can hold us.

With intention and practice, your journal can be an altar to healing, well-being, and building the world you want to see.

We keep altars for many reasons: for cultural, religious, and/or spiritual expression, to honor ancestors/spirits/nature, to make our hopes visible and tangible, to welcome what we need and desire, to protect our homes, to transition beloved people and pets. We keep journals for many reasons, too. Setting up an altar and setting up a journal are both rituals that offer grounding, bringing intention to daily life. Your journal can become an altar. Journal As Altar can help.

My journals are altars to what is possible, and to what is. My journals document my commitment to the collective, my commitment to myself and my loves, and act as accountability reminders. My journals hold pain, joy, healing, reflection. They are serious, fun, silly, embrace the mundane, keep memories, and revel in the extraordinary. Yours can, too.
